The highly anticipated handheld console from Sony Entertainment launches today in Europe, North America and Australia, promising home console level entertainment in a portable package. The PS Vita launches at £229.99/$249.99 ($349.99 Australian) for the Wifi only model and £279.99/$299.99 ($419.99 Australian) for the 3G+Wifi model.

Sony's PlayStation Vita retains the familiar general form of the PlayStation Portable hardware series while dramatically improving on virtually every aspect of its use with powerful and exciting new features including: dual touch pads at the front and rear, dual cameras at the front and rear, dual analogue sticks, a 5-inch OLED touch-screen, six-axis motion sensors and a three-axis electronic compass and exceptional built-in connectivity via Wi-Fi or 3G (3G Model only) Taken together this makes for a handheld gaming device that truly signals the entry of handhelds into the next generation of handheld gaming. 

With over two dozen titles out on launch day including the highly acclaimed Uncharted Series, the futuristic high speed racer Wipeout and various other genres covered by the launch lineup there is enough games for everybody's tastes. For a full list of the launch titles check out the table below:
